Description
As a key I/O component of the Mark VIe control platform, the GE IS220PPDAH1A provides precise power diagnostics and data integration capabilities for the system and is primarily used to monitor the status of the power distribution network in real time.
By receiving and processing feedback signals from six power distribution panels (JPDG/JPDC/JPDM/JPDS), this model continuously monitors ground fault conditions, power bus voltages, the health of high-capacity power supplies, and the on/off status of each branch circuit, transmitting this data via the IONet (I/O Ethernet) network to the main controller.
This module serves as a critical hardware foundation for implementing predictive maintenance and system-level power management within the Mark VIe distributed control architecture, and is widely deployed in critical facilities such as gas turbines, steam turbines, and combined-cycle power generation units.

Application Example
To prevent unplanned tripping caused by ground faults in auxiliary power supplies, a major power generation group installed IS220PPDAH1A power distribution feedback units in the control system of its 660 MW combined-cycle units.
These units monitor the JPDG power distribution panels 24 hours a day, collecting real-time fault, voltage, and circuit status signals, which are then uploaded to the main controller via IONet. Using the accompanying software, the system enables online monitoring of power distribution parameters.
This has eliminated potential hazards such as aging insulation and ground faults, enabling timely intervention to prevent tripping incidents. As a result, unplanned outages related to power supply systems have decreased by approximately 80%, significantly enhancing unit stability and annual economic benefits.
